TOP QUALITY DRIVING LESSONS
On nearly every driving school website you will see the following ‘top quality driving lessons here, come and get them‘ but what is top quality driving lessons and how do you know if you’re getting them?
Quality driving lessons have nothing to do with the prices that driving schools charge, it is about having a driving instructor who is willing to work hard for you to help you learn in the shortest time possible. eg: an intensive driving course.
How do I know if I am getting top quality driving lessons from my instructor?
On your first lesson with your driving instructor your instructor should put a lesson plan in place for you, this enables you to know what to expect from each and every lesson, but please remember that everyone learns at different speeds and it may take you a little longer to learn a specific part of the learner driver syllabus i.e roundabouts, bay parking, dual carriageways, country roads etc.
After each and every lesson you should feel like you are making good progress. It is also important that you have input into your lessons. In the past, I used to ask my clients to sit down in the evenings at home and think about the lesson they just had and think about which part of their drive they would first like to improve. I would ask them to write down maybe 2 to 3 things we could work on in their next lesson. If you do this it will help you to improve more quickly.
Your Driving Instructor
Your instructor is there to help you improve as quickly as possible, but they should always be honest about your ability, It is no good you thinking you are brilliant when you are not because you will soon find out when you go for your driving test. To fail your driving test once is OK, but if you fail a second time then maybe it’s time to change driving instructors because you may not be getting top quality driving lessons. Do not get confused between a friendly fun driving instructor and a great driving instructor. Your instructor is not your friend, they are there to teach you to drive because you are paying them. Having fun and learning to drive is not mutually exclusive but learning to drive in the shortest time at a pace that suits you is more important.
Your Driving Test
You should feel at the end of your lessons that can drive anywhere and I mean anywhere in the world. There is no part of driving that should make you feel nervous and that you wish to avoid. If you don’t feel ultra confident in your ability then do not go and sit a driving test, at best you will fail and at worst you will pass by a fluke and then be a danger to yourself and others on the road. Top quality lessons will lead you to become a top quality driver.
I hope this helps you understand if you are getting the most out of your lessons. If you work hard on your driving lessons then make sure your driving instructor does too. BEST OF LUCK. Intensive Courses
