Intensive Driving Course East Finchley – London N2
Welcome to your local intensive driving school for the London N2 area. All our instructors are local to your area.
They know all the driving test centre routes like the back of their hands.
We have both automatic driving courses and manual driving courses in your area. Our local driving instructor will pick you up from home for your lessons.
The waiting times for the theory test in your area is around 3 weeks. The most important thing is getting the theory test passed due to the waiting times for the practical driving test. The quicker the theory test is passed the quicker we can get you a driving test. Once the theory test is passed we will then be able to book you in for your driving test at one of your local driving test centres.
You have several local driving test centres close to you, these are: Wood Green, Tottenham, Barnet, Mill Hill, Hendon and Borehamwood. Once your driving test is in place our driving instructor will take you around the test centre areas. There are normally around 18 to 19 test routes for every test centre.
Some of the routes are more difficult than others. We will teach you to the highest standard so it will make no difference which routes you get on your test day. As a result you should be able to pass your driving test first time.

Top 10 Tips for learning in N2 East Finchley
Where is the best quietest place to start your lessons from?
Church Road going onto Twyford Avenue and also Ringwood Avenue heading towards Creighton Avenue, turning onto Beech Drive, this will give you a chance to change gears and get used to turning lefts and rights and generally getting comfortable doing the basics of driving.
What are the speed limits on the roads?
There are mostly 30 mph and a few 20 mph roads.
Are there many big or small roundabouts in my area?
Very few roundabouts in the area but if you’re looking to practice roundabouts I would suggest heading up towards the Great Cambridge roundabout where the A10 road meets the A406 North Circular.
Are there any dual carriageways?
The A1 Watford Way and the A406 North Circular Road are the closest dual carriageways
What are the best times during the day to do your driving lessons?
It gets busy around rush hour times but if you go in the opposite direction to the traffic you should still be able to get a lot of driving done. In the mornings it’s busy heading into Central London and in the evening it’s busy heading out from London.
Are there any busy/difficult/unusual junctions?
Most of the main roads get busy, Brent Cross roundabout is very busy and the North Circular from the side roads can be a bit hectic so you may have to be patient when waiting for a break in the traffic.
Are there any places to practice bay parking?
There are not many places to practice except in housing estates or the Brent Cross shopping centre has a lot of places to practice. Hendon test centre car park is also a good place to practice when tests are not taking place, Ikea of the North Circular is a great place to practice. There is also the big Tesco store beside it has a big car park to practice in.
Which are my nearest theory test centres?
The nearest theory test centres are Southgate, Mile End which has 3 centres A , B and C, then there is London Bridge (Southwark) theory test centre.
Where is my local practical test centre? There are 6 DVSA practical test centres not too far away, Hendon, Mill Hill, Barnet, Borehamwood, Tottenham and Wood Green,
Which is the easiest test centre to do your practical driving test in my area?
All test centres are roughly the same. There are more country roads on the Barnet routes, Borehamwood has lots of mini roundabouts, Hendon and Mill Hill cover mostly the same routes and you are likely to go on the A41 dual carriageway. If you’re not a fan of roundabouts then Wood Green and Tottenham have fewer roundabouts on the test routes but if you are going to do your test in either Wood Green or Tottenham make sure you practice the Great Cambridge Roundabout from all directions. So don’t worry which test centre you get.
