Where is the best quietest place to start your lessons from?

Just off Tudor Drive you have a few side roads to practice on notably Wolsey Drive turning left into Cardinal Avenue following back onto Wolsey Drive, it’s a nice circle to get upto speed with driving. This will give you a great opportunity to change gears and do the basics manouvers. Then once confident then heading back onto Coombe Road heading towards St Peter’s Road. 

What are the speed limits on the roads? 

There are mostly 30 mph in the area. 

Are there many big or small roundabouts in my area?

There are quite a few small roundabouts in the area but for larger roundabouts it might be worth heading to Apex Corner where Hampton Road East meets Twickenham Road. Tolworth roundabout is just down the road.

Are there any dual carriageways?

The A3 Kingston Bypass and the A316 Chertsey Road are the closest dual carriageways.

What are the best times during the day to do your driving lessons? 

It’s a busy but the traffic flows type of area so try and avoid the rush hour traffic to give yourself the chance to get some proper driving in.

Are there any busy/difficult/unusual junctions? 

It’s very busy most of the time but nothing too difficult to contend with.

Are there any places to practice bay parking? 

In and around most of the parks they have car parks where you can practice in. Also the larger shopping centres have car parks.

Which are my nearest theory test centres?

The nearest theory test centres are Kingston and Croydon.

Where is my local practical test centre?

There are 4 DVSA practical test centres not too far away. Tolworth is the closest followed by Mitcham, Morden and Isleworth.

Which is the easiest test centre to do your practical driving test in my area?

All the local test centres have quite a few larger roundabouts and dual carriageways to contend with on the practical driving test. Some instructors seem to have a preference for Tolworth and Isleworth but if you can drive it shouldn’t matter which test centre you go for.
