Semi Intensive Driving Course E8.

Our semi intensive courses can be spread over a period of no more than 6 weeks. Your driving lessons are booked in around your diary. We do a minimum of 2 hour a day and a maximum of 5 hours a day. Your practical driving test is booked in for the last day of your course.

Where is the best quietest place to start your lessons from?

In and around Lansdowne Drive going onto Lavender Grove, Malvern Road and Mapledene is a great place to get started on changing gears and turning lefts and rights.

What are the speed limits on the roads? 

There are mostly 30 mph with some 20 mph. There are no faster roads in the area as it’s a built up area. 

Are there many big or small roundabouts in my area? 

Not many roundabouts in the area, heading over to Old Street Roundabout would help get used to big roundabouts but watch out for the congestion charge. 

Are there any dual carriageways?

The A12 and the A13 are the closest dual carriageways to the East of London.  In the North London side you have the A10 Great Cambridge and the A406 North Circular Road. 

What are the best times during the day to do your driving lessons? 

It’s a busy area but the traffic does move so anytime is a good time for the lessons, so you can learn to drive at any time of the day.

Are there any busy/difficult/unusual junctions? 

Busy,  but the roads are straight forward with nothing too difficult to contend with. Turning right onto the main roads can be difficult because of the sheer scale of traffic.

Are there any places to practice bay parking? 

Asda Leyton Mills has a big car park,  but it gets busy with shoppers so be careful.  Also in housing estates you will find places to practice, don’t practice in the same area for any length of time as this might annoy residents.

Which are my nearest theory test centres?

The nearest theory test centres are Mile End which has three centres A, B and C, then there is London Bridge (Southwark) theory test centre and then further on you have Ilford theory test centre.

Where is my local practical test centre?

There are 6 DVSA practical test centres not too far away. Wanstead and Barking being your closest followed by Goodmayes and Chingford and then on the North side you have Tottenham and Wood Green test centres.

Which is the easiest test centre to do your practical driving test in my area?

All test centres are the same. The closest practical test centre is Wanstead which has lots of roundabouts.  If you’re not a fan of roundabouts then Goodmayes has fewer roundabouts on the test routes. Wood Green and Tottenham test centres cover mainly the same roads, the main difference is that Wood Green has a smaller car park so be careful going in and out of the car park.  The Chingford test centre car park is on a slope. If you can get a chance to practice there then take it, so don’t worry which test centre you get.
